Position Title: Director of Buildings and Grounds
Job Goal: The Director of Buildings and Grounds is responsible for operating, maintaining, improving, and repairing buildings, grounds, and all related equipment at the district facilities. In coordination with the administration, this position develops and maintains systems of comprehensive preventative maintenance, energy management, budget management, custodial and maintenance personnel management, safety training, product testing, facilities improvement, and other related programs.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Requires at least three years in maintenance or a related field, with expertise in energy management and integrated computerized systems.
- Must have strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and building operations.
- Proven leadership, supervisory skills, and experience managing a team.
- Extensive knowledge of buildings and grounds maintenance, including safety regulations, mechanical hazards, and occupational health requirements.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute short- and long-term plans.
- Strong digital literacy, including proficiency with mobile applications, computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Team-oriented approach with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and supervision.
- Ability to assess, interpret, and analyze large volumes of information effectively.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Physically able to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting (up to 80 lbs.), and other physical demands with or without accommodations.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress or emergencies.
