About the Position
Londonderry Village is committed to providing person-centered, individualized care and services to the elders we serve. In the Groundskeeper position, you will be responsible for ensuring that grounds equipment is in proper operating condition. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing grounds work to keep the campus neat and presentable.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour, credit for experience
Shift: Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4pm; on-call time is required during winter months to remove snow and ice from campus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains campus grounds: picks up trash, sweeps sidewalks and curbs, rakes leaves, plants flowers and trees, lays down mulch, seeds/re-seeds lawn areas, weeds, trims hedges, and removes limbs and stones from lawns.
- Mows lawns using push and power mowers. Trims and edges lawn areas.
- Inspects flowers, shrubbery, and trees for evidence of insects, fungi, and other pests.
- Digs up bulbs and roots and stores them appropriately for the fall and winter seasons as assigned.
- Performs snow removal tasks on campus from start to finish, including plowing, shoveling, and laying down ice melt on walkways and parking areas.
- Maintains the grounds shop in an organized and clean manner.
- Uses the WorxHub software for documentation and quality reporting on preventive maintenance and work order
- completion.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner following
- HS Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently
- Practical experience with gas-powered mowers, landscaping, and electrical equipment
- Ability to work in outside environments in varying temperatures, including extreme heat and cold
- Ability to complete all essential functions of the position
