About the Position
As a Personal Care Aide, your primary responsibility is to provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's) to residents as needed, according to each respective individual.
Available Shifts: 7a - 11a (5 days/week); 5p - 9p (3 days/week)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes all activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, etc.) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Reports incidents and changes of condition to the Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
- Reports issues related to the care and treatment of residents to the Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
- Answers resident call lights and resolves the issue.
- Assists residents with ambulation and transports/escorts residents as needed.
- Assists residents to and from the dining room, serves meals, and assists with feeding residents if needed.
- Assumes responsibility for the appearance and hygiene of residents.
- Ensures all residents are offered hydration and nourishments.
- Completes tub baths, showers, and/or bed baths.
- Obtains vital signs and weights.
- Ensures concerns/complaints from residents and/or responsible parties are addressed initially and communicated to PC Administrator for follow-up and resolution.
- Documents all care in respective resident's chart.
- Responds appropriately to any emergency or disaster event.
- Maintains confidentiality of all residents' care information, including protected health information, in accordance with HIPAA and other federal and state regulations.
- Identifies resident care needs and provides care according to the respective individual support plan.
- Must be at least 21 years of age as per licensing regulations
- HS Diploma or GED
- Current, valid certification (in good standing) in PA as a Medication Technician or willingness to obtain
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Personal Care Aide or Medication Technician
- Long term care experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in providing personal care and assisting with ADLs
