Installer II

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for completing tasks and activities associated with mechanical HVAC/R systems of various types as assigned by Installer I/Foreman and/or Field Manager.

Essential Functions

• Works collaboratively with all members of installation crew
• Ability to learn the full scope of the job and is able to execute with or without supervision
• Responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and safe jobsite in conjunction with both company and client policies
• Ability to communicate professionally and knowledgably with Field Manager, Project Manager, and customers on most aspects of the Project assigned
• Ability to learn to analyze system/field drawings for a Projects assigned
• Performs most aspects of installation including but not limited to installation of piping, ductwork, walk-in coolers, range hoods, assists in commissioning, measuring ductwork, and other tasks from Installer III/Apprentice job description
• Ability to complete all required paperwork associated with job in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to timesheets, service orders, delivery tickets, construction reports
• Ability to learn and assist with electrical terminations on the assigned Project
• Ability to assist and train Installer III/Apprentice
• Ability to listen and complete tasks assigned by Installer I/Foreman
• Ability to operate large equipment when necessary (example forklift)
• Ability to own and operate all tools necessary to perform job duties
• Ability to travel to any jobsite, and have a valid Driver’s License and driving record which meets company insurance requirements
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

• Piping and Duct installation
• Nitrogen purging and pressure testing
• Assist in evacuating systems (general setup of vacuum pump and gauges)
• Assist in general electrical terminations
• Soldering (15%)
• Assist with daily material lists (provide Installer I/Foreman with materials needed)
• Operate basic HVAC/R hand a power tools (power drill, gauges, vacuum analyzer, metal working tools, torch set, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities  

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates in the shop at LeBlanc & Associates and on the job site.  It is subject to environmental changes of heat and cold.  It is necessary to work in confined spaces, around welding and smoke, and in environments where increased safety measures are necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, bending and twisting, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Multi-level climbing may be required.  The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, but schedules may change seasonally to encompass weather conditions and project schedules. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work in order to meet business needs.

Travel

Travel is required to both local and non-local job sites, including offshore.   Travel outside of the country may also be required.

Required Education, Certificates and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent                           Valid Driver’s License                     Forklift Certification

1-2 years’ verifiable experience in HVAC installation                        

Preferred Education and Experience

HVAC Certificate               EPA Certification

3-5 years’ verifiable experience in HVAC installation

Collaboration skills are essential to function in this position.  Maintains all safety requirements to safely perform all duties required of the position.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card (TWIC) may be required.

Current Passport may be required.
