Summary/Objective
This position is a higher skill level position which is responsible for completing tasks and activities associated with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC/R systems of all types and galley equipment as assigned by the Service Manager.
Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively with all members of the service department
- Understands advanced HVAC/R technologies and techniques, and is able to execute assigned tasks without supervision
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge on current HVAC/R technologies and techniques
- Responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and safe jobsite in conjunction with both company and client policies
- Ability to communicate professionally and knowledgably with Service Manager and customers on all aspects of the Project assigned
- Maintains a low level of customer call backs after initial service is performed
- Performs most aspects of service including but not limited to refrigerant management, leak checking, vacuum, recovery, troubleshooting electrical on all systems, startups, and commissioning
- Understands the function and operation of all major components in a system: compressor, condenser, oil separator, liquid receiver, liquid line drier, TXV, evaporator, suction accumulator, and suction drier
- Understands the following principles and techniques including but not limited to basic cycle of refrigeration, basic electricity (using volt/amp meters), function of electric heat, gas, heat pumps, and boilers, superheat, sub cooling, function and operation of all pressure control switches, capacity control (electric and hydraulic unloading), static pressure, and fundamentals of fire dampers
- Ability to learn how to measure duct transitions for unit tie in’s
- Ability to learn and read basic electrical schematics
- Ability to complete startup and commissioning report on HVAC/R systems
- Ability to survey existing systems and complete the necessary paperwork to determine if replacement is needed
- Ability to complete all required paperwork associated with job in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to timesheets, change orders, service orders, and survey sheets
- Ability to assist and train Service Technician Apprentice
- Ability to operate large equipment when necessary (example forklift)
- Ability to own and operate all tools necessary to perform job duties including but not limited to refrigeration gauges, a volt/amp meter, and a note book
- Responsible for maintaining company vehicles’ stock levels with proper equipment and supplies while ensuring all unused or unnecessary parts are returned to the stock room
- Responsible for cleaning of company vehicles and properly securing the contents within
- Ability to travel to any jobsite, and have a valid Driver’s License and driving record which meets company insurance requirements
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the Service Technician Apprentice as assigned.
Work Environment
This position works in the shop at LeBlanc & Associates and on the job site. It is subject to environmental changes of heat and cold. It is necessary to work in confined spaces, around welding and smoke and in environments where increased safety measures are necessary.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Regular days of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, but schedules may change seasonally to encompass weather conditions and project schedules. This position regularly requires long hours and rotational weekends on call in order to meet business needs.
Travel
Travel is required to both local and non-local jobsites, including offshore. Travel outside of the country may also be required.
Required Education, Certificates and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver’s License Forklift Certification
EPA Certification Offshore credentials (HUET, OWS, RigPass, SEMS)
NATE Certification 3-5 years’ of verifiable experience in HVAC/R service
Preferred Education and Experience
Vocational Technical College degree
5 years’ of verifiable experience in HVAC/R service

Team building and collaboration skills are essential to function in this position. Maintains all safety requirements to safely perform all duties required of the position.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card (TWIC) is required.
Current Passport is required. Work Visa may be required.
