Position Summary:
The metallographic product manager is responsible for overseeing the development and success of the metallographic product line. Work with various teams—such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales—to ensure the product meets customer needs, business goals, and market demands. The product line consist of metallographic preparation equipment, hardness testing, microscopes, and consumables.
Position Responsibilities:
- Facilitate new product development by acting as liaison between Sales, Service, R&D, Finance, Production, and Customers.
- Create marketing strategy for new and existing product lines to ensure profitable and sustainable advantages for the future.
- Train domestic and international sales on the value propositions for new and existing products.
- Assist Technical Communications department with literature, advertising, website, and direct mailing copy and strategic positioning of the product line.
- Manage P&L of the product line through target cost-cutting agendas and line optimization to reach targeted goals for the future.
- Investigate quality issues within product line and help initiate improvements with necessary departments.
- Represent the firm at analytical conferences in order to champion the well-being of the product line and its performance capabilities.
Position Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in related field.
- Some travel required (20%).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Possess exceptional analytical, organization, and time-management skills.
Education/Certifications:
- BS Chemistry or equivalent in Biology or Material Science (Masters Degree preferred—MBA or MS).
