Validation Specialist

Schedule:
Full Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
Position Summary:
Validation engineers evaluate LECO’s instrumentation and procedures. This is done through rigorous testing under a variety of instrumental conditions. They ensure all systems are running according to necessary specifications and operate within LECO's processes and regulations; this is done to ensure the production of quality products. They establish validation standards, develop testing protocols, test the instrumentation, analyze and document results and maintain records for later analysis. They often need to coordinate with other departments who will be affected by testing.
Position Responsibilities:
- Generate gas chromatograph and mass spectral data acquisition methods
- Acquire mass spectral data with strong attention to detail
- Prepare chemical solutions
- Interpret chromatographic and mass spectral data
- Process data using LECO's proprietary software package
- Compile large quantities of processed data into concise tables, graphs, images and written statements
- Generate data reports
- Present data internally to interdepartmental groups
- Troubleshoot instrumentation
Position Requirements:
- Microsoft Office with exceptional Excel capabilities
- Scripting Capabilities (Preferred)
- Microsoft Windows
- Comfortable with and able to troubleshoot advanced analytical instrumentation
Education/Certifications:
- Minimum of BS in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology with 2 years of industry experience
