Summary:
A Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and control of materials, products, and supplies within a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or distribution center. They ensure materials are properly received, stored, and delivered to their appropriate locations in a timely and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and move materials using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders or invoices
- Store materials in designated areas, following inventory control procedures
- Prepare and stage materials for production or shipment
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and material movements
- Perform routine cycle counts and report discrepancies
- Follow safety procedures and regulations when handling hazardous materials or operating machinery
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Assist in other warehouse or production duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse or material handling experience is a plus
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification may be required)
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs) and stand for long periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-oriented environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
