Responsibilities of the Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist
- Evaluate work locations for safety and environmental risks
- Conduct routine safety/environmental checks and inspections
- Develop recommendations for improvement based on observations
- Provide guidance to engineering and R&D departments for new projects
- Develop and conduct employee training
- Prepare and file reports
- Perform accident investigations and identify root cause(s)
- Manage Workers Compensation program
- Manage hazardous waste programs for full quantity generators
- Provide guidance for shipping hazardous materials
- Ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications of the Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental and safety-related field plus 7-10 years of direct EHS experience in a manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of chemical hazards
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA/NHDES regulations
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Acute attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable presenting training to large groups
- Must be able to travel between Manchester and Bow, NH
