What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Morning Baker position at Leddy's Bakery?
We are looking for a Baker/Fryer to prepare a wide range of donuts, pastries, cookies, cakes and pies. Responsibilities include, consistently opening the bakery at early hours, preparing food to enter the oven, Frying donuts while simultaneously monitoring the oven, cleaning dishes thoroughly and at a fast pace. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a line cook or other job function in a fast paced kitchen, since this position is more similar to a line cook than pastry baker. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Clean dishes
- Cross reference orders with inventory
- Operate oven at optimum speed
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
- Proof and fry donuts for optimal size and quality
- Bake different pastries and pies
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking

Skills
- Experience as a line cook or similar in fast paced kitchen
- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
