The Accounting Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the company's financial operations, primarily focusing on accounts receivable and general accounting functions. Duties and responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Duties (Primary Focus):
- Process customer invoicing daily with accuracy and timeliness.
- Apply customer payments via check, credit card, and ACH, ensuring proper reconciliation.
- Analyze accounts receivable aging reports to monitor overdue accounts and manage customer credit terms.
- Perform collection efforts, including follow-ups on past-due accounts, sending reminders, and escalating delinquent accounts as necessary.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and manage customer relations related to invoices and payments.
General Accounting Duties:
- Accounts Payable processing invoices and posting them in the ERP system when needed. (back up duty for Sierra Pacific Supply, primary duty for B&B Socket Products).
- Support inventory cost adjustments and ensure accurate reporting of inventory values, as requested.
- Assist in month-end reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting.
- Generate and upload inventory reports to third-party platforms.
- Run financial reports and provide data analysis.
- Participate in special projects, including cost analysis, data review, and compiling financial information.
Administrative & General Support:
- Organize and maintain financial records and office documentation.
- Assist with project scheduling, tracking, and financial coordination for internal projects.
- Maintain general office procedures, including data entry and office supply management.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance team and company objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
AA Degree required, bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Must be intermediate to advance in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and general understanding of corporate accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data, adhering to company protocols.
