What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Operations Supervisor position at Ledgent Finance & Accounting?
We have been engaged to help our client identify an Accounting Operations Supervisor. This is a Direct Hire opportunity
1 day a week in office, 4 days remote- downtown Dallas area
Essential Duties:
- Supervises the revenue accounting function including cash receipts, commission paid, and overdue invoices
- Approve broker payouts to be sent to Accounts Payable
- Respond to brokers on payment calculation inquiries
- Responds to inquiries regarding accounts receivable policies and procedures
- Responsible for the processing of cash and how is impacts the company's revenue recognition process
- Oversees the tracking, monitoring, and collecting of aging accounts receivable
- Prepares periodic accounts receivable reports
- Performs management responsibilities in accordance with company policies including: interviews, selects, trains, coaches, and counsels direct reports
- Develops and monitors budgets for functional area
- Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounts receivable function
- Prepares monthly reports
- Lead, delegate, and mentor others
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to define problems and persuasively present conclusions
- Excellent critical and conceptual thinking, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong results orientation, which includes meeting commitments and targeted/required delivery dates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
- Excel experience required. Advanced in creating Pivot Tables
- 5 years related accounting experience; 2 years management experience
- Develop and maintain good relationships within the financial group and with clients
- Provide leadership and promote cooperation in a team environment
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with computerized accounting systems
