Chief Financial Officer (JN -112024-382418)

A small logistics company in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced and qualified CFO.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the following processes :
• Vendor payments
• Payroll
• Revenue recording & accounts receivable collection
• Cash forecasting
• Manage the company's accounting employees
• Record, pay & reconcile tax liabilities (Sales tax, payroll taxes, etc.)
• Oversee vessel charter financial operations
• Participate in booking, pricing, and ad hoc revenue collection
• Coordinate billing, expense reimbursement, and client funding; supervise VAT and sales tax assessment, collection & remittance
• Ensure currency exchange conversions are recorded properly
• Manage the financial reporting process
• Engage with department heads to prepare the Annual Profit / Loss budget
• Monitor & analyze budget deviations
• Prepare and analyze monthly profit / loss statements
• Assist with planning for major capital improvements
• Provide ad hoc reports as necessary
• Develop & maintain the company's system of internal controls to safeguard company assets & ensure compliance with legal and ethical business practices
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data
• Provide financial training as appropriate
• Supervise the year-end closing process
• Interface with governmental & external auditors
• Maintain the Chart of Accounts
• Remain current on industry trends, regulations & best practices in financial management
• Assist the President on financial and investment analyses & oversight
• Monitor derivative investment cash flows
• Assist in cash management decision making and reporting
• Track lending facilities principal & interest payments
• Assess funding needs for business units
• Participate in tax planning and associated financial planning
