Position: Controller

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Controller to oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role will manage day-to-day accounting operations, prepare monthly financial statements, and lead process improvements. Reporting to the President, the Controller will also supervise a team of four and collaborate across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enforce internal control guidelines and accounting SOPs.
• Oversee the monthly financial close and preparation of accrual-based statements.
• Supervise and mentor a four-person accounting team.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial variances.
• Maintain strong working relationships with operational teams.
• Coordinate with external tax accountants for tax compliance.
• Ensure financial records meet internal and regulatory standards.
• Support budgeting and forecasting through cross-department collaboration.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance financial processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Appfolio, and MS Office.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
• Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communicator with team leadership and collaborative skills.
