(Will start out as part time and once trained will work full time M-Thursday)
Under the general direction of the Principal Accountant, the Finance and Accounting Technician (FA Tech) assists in performing a variety of finance and accounting tasks. These functions include, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Receiving, bank reconciliations, general ledger account analysis, preparation and maintenance of contracts and agreement, preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports. These functions include quarter-end and year-end closing activities; performs other related duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The FA Tech may be exposed to the following finance and accounting related functions:
1. Prepare and process accounts payable, submit purchase requisitions and receiving records. Review purchase requisitions and receiving records for accuracy and compliance with Purchasing Policy and according to established accounting procedures and budgetary approvals.
2. Apply cash receipts and bank transfers; reconcile and review month-end accounts receivable statements and generate reports; record and monitor aging of account balances; prepare monthly billing reminders; respond to customer inquiries regarding billings and payments.
3. Maintain and reconcile a variety of ledgers, reports and account records; examine and correct accounting transactions to ensure accuracy; perform account analysis on general ledger control accounts to verify their accuracy and reasonableness.
Minimum 2 years experience in general accounting
At least AA degree
