Senior Property Accountant
North Shore, Boston
$90,000 annually
Our client on the North Shore of Boston is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee the financial management of a seven-property portfolio, consisting of five commercial properties and two residential properties. This on-site role is based in either Malden, MA, or Wakefield, MA and requires expertise in Timberline (Sage 300 CRE) and Yardi property management software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and monitor property budgets, conduct variance analysis, and provide financial projections to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee rent collections, tenant billings, vendor payments, and expense tracking to maintain financial stability.
- Lease Accounting & Compliance: Manage lease agreements, including CAM reconciliations, rent escalations, and lease compliance for commercial and residential tenants.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with property managers, owners, auditors, and tax professionals to ensure financial transparency and efficient operations.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely property tax filings and adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Timberline (Sage 300 CRE) and Yardi experience required
- Strong knowledge of real estate accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting
- Experience managing commercial and residential property finances
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Strong understanding of lease administration and CAM reconciliations
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
