Ledgent is partnering with a firm in the NE Metro area who is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and resolving inquiries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation and filings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and business strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Construction industry experience highly preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
