JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Warehouse Developer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role focuses on leveraging Delta Lake/OneLake and the Medallion Architecture (Bronze-Silver-Gold) to efficiently manage and transform data. The ideal candidate will have expertise in end-to-end SDLC, performance tuning, and governance to develop impactful data solutions, laying the foundation for AI-driven insights.
This is a direct hire position with an annual salary of up to $135,000. The role requires onsite presence four days a week in the Mendota Heights area.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Data Warehouse Development: Design, develop, and implement a scalable and efficient data warehouse using Azure Fabric and Medallion Architecture.
Design & Development: Implement and maintain robust data pipelines on Azure (Data Factory, Synapse) to handle structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Data Modeling: Develop and implement complex data models to support analytics, reporting, and future AI initiatives.
Collaboration: Work closely with reporting teams, data analysts, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into technical requirements.
AI Readiness: Prepare data warehouse infrastructure for AI and machine learning projects, ensuring structured and accessible data for advanced analytics.
Best Practices & Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for SQL development, data governance, and security.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and data models.
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentoring to development teams to enhance cloud competencies.
Performance & Reliability: Ensure application scalability, performance, and uptime while maintaining strict code quality standards.
Security & Compliance: Manage cloud environments in accordance with organizational security policies.
Automation: Utilize cloud automation technologies to streamline processes.
SDLC & DevOps: Lead and improve CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing strategies for reliable deployments and upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS: The qualifications listed below represent the requirements for the role. In some cases, an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience may meet job qualifications.
Education, Training, Certifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Cloud certifications in a specialized area.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
5 years of experience in SQL development and data warehousing, with a track record of designing and delivering production-grade data pipelines in a cloud environment.
3 years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions using Azure data services (Data Lake Storage, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.).
Experience with transactionally consistent data lake solutions, ACID compliance, and time-travel features.
Proficiency in data integration and ETL tools, preferably within an Azure environment.
Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques, including star and snowflake schemas.
Experience with AI and machine learning technologies is a plus.
Expertise in database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.
Proven ability to collaborate with business analysts, developers, and SMEs.
Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
