Overview:
This person will play a key role in building and supporting a defensible environment capable of detecting, containing, and responding to data security threats. The focus is on enabling the business needs of a highly collaborative organization operating at the leading edge of technology, including early adoption of various cloud services. This role will contribute to integrating those services into modern security practices within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a security awareness program that engages employees and results in measurable behavior improvements.
- Partner with teams such as Service Desk, HR Learning, Privacy, and Compliance to develop and deliver security awareness and data protection training.
- Proactively identify current security events, assess applicability, and develop appropriate internal communications.
- Collaborate with other Information Risk Management (IRM) team members to create and distribute training and awareness materials supporting security initiatives.
- Effectively communicate security policies and standards to technical teams, broader organizational stakeholders, and cross-functional groups.
- Develop and implement real-time awareness capabilities triggered by risky behaviors identified through incident response or technology workflows.
- Provide solutions to reduce risk associated with sensitive information workflows and develop corresponding training and risk mitigation plans.
- Plan and deliver information security and privacy training through learning management systems (LMS) and in-person sessions.
- Design and execute targeted awareness campaigns, including cybersecurity month initiatives, phishing simulations, and regular security newsletters.
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of individual campaigns and the overall security awareness program.
- Play an active role in security incident response efforts, contributing to the identification and mitigation of information security threats.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of Information Security experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience specifically in a Security Awareness role.
- Previous leadership or managerial experience is required.
- Strong ability to communicate complex security topics clearly and concisely across all organizational levels.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders and executives.
- Familiarity with regulatory and contractual standards such as PCI DSS and GDPR.
- Certification in information security (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to research and create high-quality awareness and training materials.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to independently lead security awareness and training initiatives.
