Information Technology Manager

A leading, well-established construction/engineering firm is seeking an experienced IT Manager (ITM) to oversee and manage the organization's technology infrastructure and ensure optimal performance across systems and teams. This role is pivotal in maintaining the reliability, security, and strategic direction of IT operations within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Management
- Lead the planning, implementation, and management of IT systems across multiple locations.
- Coordinate deployment of end-user hardware/software, on-site and remote servers, network infrastructure, mobile device setup, and printer configurations.
- Develop internal IT policies and procedures in alignment with corporate standards.
- Stay ahead of industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency in IT operations.
- Monitor systems proactively to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Oversee procurement of hardware and software, balancing performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Test and approve software updates before deployment to ensure stability and compatibility.
- Leverage shared services and collaborate with a parent company's IT resources when applicable.
- Create and maintain IT onboarding materials and user documentation.
Security & Compliance
- Manage company data security, including backups, antivirus, malware protection, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT security and software licensing standards.
- Perform regular audits on systems and access permissions.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the IT support staff, fostering skill development and a customer-focused approach.
- Conduct performance reviews, set expectations, and provide coaching and training.
- Assign and schedule tasks, ensuring full coverage and timely delivery of services.
- Maintain and audit the IT asset inventory, ensuring equipment is current and properly managed throughout its lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field-or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in a leadership IT role.
- Strong expertise in:
- Active Directory & Windows OS
- Office 365
- Mobile device management (MDM)
- Networking (preferably Cisco & Meraki)
- Citrix environments
- VMWare environments
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based, with standard business hours Monday-Friday.
- Occasional travel to job sites within the state and surrounding regions, including out-of-state travel as required.
- Some exposure to varied weather conditions during site visits.
Team Structure
- Direct supervision of Desktop Support Technicians and an Assistant IT Manager.
