Overview:
This role leads the planning, coordination, and daily operation of all IT systems across the organization. The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining stable and secure technology environments, guiding IT team members, and developing processes that support evolving business needs. This position also plays a key role in aligning IT strategy with organizational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technology Leadership & Support
- Oversee deployment and upkeep of systems including computers, servers (on-site and remote), networking equipment, printers, and mobile devices
- Create and refine IT policies to support security, efficiency, and operational consistency
- Stay current on emerging tools and trends to proactively suggest scalable tech improvements
- Monitor infrastructure health and system logs to anticipate issues and minimize disruptions
- Coordinate regular updates and ensure compatibility across the tech environment
- Evaluate hardware/software purchases for performance and cost-effectiveness
- Develop user guides and onboarding materials for new hires and systems
Cybersecurity & Risk Mitigation
- Manage data security practices including backups, access controls, antivirus tools, and threat prevention systems
- Conduct periodic audits of user access and system integrity
- Implement and enforce organizational standards for software licensing and security protocols
- Handle the addition and removal of user credentials in a timely, secure manner
Team Supervision & Development
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to support technicians and IT staff
- Establish team priorities, manage task distribution, and schedule coverage
- Facilitate ongoing training opportunities to promote skill development and internal growth
- Maintain asset tracking, ensuring hardware lifecycles and warranties are monitored
What You Bring:
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
- 5 years of IT leadership experience
- Hands-on knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365
- Familiarity with mobile device platforms and remote management tools
- Networking expertise (experience with Cisco/Meraki preferred)
- Exposure to virtual environments such as VMware and Citrix
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users
- High attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Work Environment:
This role is based in an office setting with occasional travel to other locations, including operational or project-based job sites. Most work takes place during standard business hours, though occasional off-hours maintenance or troubleshooting may be required.
Physical Expectations:
Candidates must be able to move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and perform occasional bending or crouching. Visual ability to handle screen-based tasks is essential.
Team Structure:
This position provides leadership and direction to a small IT support team, including junior tech staff.
