Job Overview :
The technology team at our client plays a pivotal role in supporting their vision by developing scalable applications using the AWS cloud ecosystem. We are currently looking for a highly motivated, self-driven Training Manager, Application Development to join our team. This role is key to our client's Loan Production ecosystem, and the successful candidate will contribute to business and technology processes while leading cloud-focused solution architecture, technology development, and delivery. The Manager will also be responsible for designing, developing, and continuously improving a comprehensive training program for entry-level engineers, promoting technical expertise and career growth within the organization.
Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Empowerment :
- Provide leadership to technology teams, guiding them to deliver value to customers using Agile methodologies.
- Actively empower and support teams to achieve business goals through collaboration and innovative technology solutions.
Training & Development :
Needs Assessment : Conduct thorough assessments to identify skill gaps, knowledge requirements, and future development needs of engineers.Curriculum Design : Design and develop engaging training programs, including onboarding for new hires, technical skills training, leadership development, and professional workshops.Training Methodologies : Utilize a variety of training methods (e.g., online courses, in-person workshops, mentoring, job shadowing, and cross-functional projects).Collaboration : Work closely with engineering managers to align training programs with performance goals and individual development plans.Impact Measurement : Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and the impact on employee performance and skill development.Technical Leadership & Solution Development :
Hands-on Contribution : Act as a technical leader by developing complex technical solutions and guiding developers on best practices for coding, design, and testing.Solution Architecture : Architect, plan, and execute optimal solutions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and extensibility.Incident Management : Oversee triage, resolution, review, and documentation of production incidents.Performance Optimization : Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement.Foster an environment of integrity, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Program Implementation & Stakeholder Management :
Training Delivery : Oversee or directly deliver training programs, managing logistics such as scheduling, venue selection, and materials preparation.Progress Tracking : Track participant progress, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate the success of training programs.Collaboration : Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering managers, senior leadership, and external training providers.Communication : Effectively communicate the goals, progress, and impact of training initiatives.Continuous Improvement :
Program Evaluation : Regularly assess training programs, gather feedback, and make improvements to enhance their relevance and effectiveness.Budget Management : Manage the budget for the engineering training program, ensuring cost-effectiveness and tracking expenses.Qualifications : Required :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.5 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 2 years in a training or development capacity.Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and technologies.Full-stack engineering experience with technologies like Python, Node, TypeScript, and React .
Experience in serverless technology architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, AWS Event Bridge).Familiarity with SQL (Postgres, SQL Server) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) solutions.Proven experience in designing and delivering technical training programs .Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Strong organizational and project management skills.Preferred :
Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning theory.Certifications in training and development (e.g., Certified Professional in Training & Development - CPTD).Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies .Desired Skills and Experience
