What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Systems Administrator position at Ledgent Technology?
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the Bank's physical and virtual server infrastructure including Active Directory, VMware vSphere, storage area networks, Exchange mail servers, patch management and endpoint security protection. The Senior Systems Administrator maintains the Bank's daily system requirements including installing updates, performance monitoring, managing access permissions and ensuring system security compliance. Assists in developing and implementing technology architecture strategies to accommodate current and future organizational needs. Works in concert with the Information Technology team in the overall administration of these directives for the Bank.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design and support VMware vSphere infrastructure and its associated software, including vCenter server, ESXi and vSphere Update Manager.
2. Deploy, update, and effectively manage SolarWinds Orion suite for reporting and performance alerting.
3. Assist the technology department financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and server monitoring expenses.
4. Proven experience and success with enterprise-level server and storage Administration, enterprise-level virtualization Administratoring, design and implementation.
5. Proven ability to design, deploy, maintain and document all server, storage, virtualization, UPSs and network connections to all server, storage, and application infrastructure.
6. Proven experience with server and storage capacity planning, server and storage security principles and general server and storage management best practices.
7. Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to server, storage, and application infrastructure configuration.
8. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for server, storage and application administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
9. Develops and deploys methodologies for testing server and storage infrastructure performance and providing server and storage performance statistics and reports.

11. Assists the technology department financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and technology expenses pertaining to server, storage, application, and disaster recovery infrastructure.
12. Conduct scheduled testing and improve the disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to server functionality.
13. Oversee new and existing devices including hardware and software upgrades relating to server and storage equipment.
14. Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of server infrastructure components.
15. Work with equipment and software vendors during new installations and major upgrades.
16. Deploy role-based access permissions to Help Desk staff for least privilege access to Active Directory, Exchange server, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and Printer Management.
17. Upgrades servers and storage OS and hardware by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancement and patches. Where necessary, liaise with equipment vendors during installations and hardware performance issues.
18. Responsible for coordinating, supervising and managing all 3rd party hardware and software requests for all departments, branch facilities and their IT rooms.
19. Performs periodic scheduled audits to validate all serial numbers, locations, licenses, and support agreements.
20. Manage and ensure effectiveness of endpoint security solutions.
21. Performs periodic server group policy reviews and makes approved adjustments as necessary.
22. Participates in scheduled network failover and disaster recovery testing events.
