Accounts Payable Clerk
Responsibilities:
- Process and review invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper coding and approvals
- Prepare and issue payments to vendors via checks, ACH, or other methods
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Assist with month-end closing and generate reports as needed
- Handle vendor inquiries and disputes in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Support the accounting team in general administrative and clerical tasks
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience in accounts payable or similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.); experience with accounting software a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
