Job Title: Bookkeeper
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with labor laws and tax regulations.
- Maintain general ledger and reconcile bank accounts.
- Handle job costing, including tracking expenses, labor, and materials for individual projects.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports.
- File sales tax, payroll tax, and other required reports.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Maintain organized digital and paper financial records.
- Assist in financial planning and forecasting for construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Sage (Sage 50, Sage 100, or Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate).
- Strong knowledge of job costing, AIA billing, and lien waivers.
- Familiarity with prevailing wage payroll and certified payroll reporting is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience in the construction industry.
