We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role will involve maintaining data integrity within financial systems to ensure accurate inventory valuation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to develop and implement controlled, scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and enhancement of costing processes and systems to improve financial reporting and operational decision-making.
Prepare and assist in setting standard costs for manufactured goods.
Conduct variance analysis, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate tracking of material, labor, and overhead costs.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including physical counts, journal entries, and inventory reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP.
Perform data cleanup within financial systems related to inventory and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Establish systems for ensuring accurate Bill of Materials.
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
7 years of experience in accounting; experience with Big Four firms is a plus.
3 years of experience in cost accounting.
Strong understanding of standard costing and full cost accounting processes.
Direct experience with financial systems, manufacturing systems, general ledger, standardized cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
3 years of experience with SAP is required.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
