Summary:
The Senior GL accountant will be a critical member of the Accounting team. This role is very cross-functional in nature and will be working with a variety of people inside and outside the company. This is a great role for someone who has a solid understanding of GL accounting in a manufacturing environment and wants to grow their career in accounting. We are a growing company, and have a breadth of accounting needs. We are looking for someone who is hungry to learn, willing to dive into the details to research and analyze variances, and wants to be part of a strong team that has a lot of fun while we account for everything company does.
Initially, this role will be responsible for all transactions related to accurate reporting of our largest asset: Inventory. This role ensures accuracy of inventory quantities and values across many third party manufacturer and third party logistics locations. Other monthly accounting responsibilities will be added as growth opportunities, once this person is meeting all of the cost accounting needs and has bandwidth to tackle more. Understanding best practices for physical inventory count reconciliations are required. High skill level in critical thinking, research, and analysis is required. Ability to resolve issues independently, strong accounting skills, and employment history in consumer products manufacturing and cost accounting is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate inventory movement to ensure accuracy of location, quantities, and value
- Reconcile inventory values across many locations and tie to general ledger
- Research and correct all inventory discrepancies
- Conduct physical counts at multiple warehouses and reconcile
- Work with Supply chain team and Suppliers to reconcile discrepancies
- Maintain strong partnerships with third party suppliers
- Support the AP team on clearing received items for payment
- Oversee daily and month end procedures to ensure the integrity of the GL value of inventory
- Track all prepayments to suppliers to reconcile with inventory received at a later date
- Analyze and amortize PPV variances monthly for both labor and components, explaining variances to budget
- Analyze and amortize inbound freight costs on a monthly basis
- Prepare various GL account analysis and present concise findings
- Track, record, and report scrap activity at multiple 3PM's
- Maintain reporting for variance trends at multiple locations
- Month end and year end processes including preparing and keying adjusting journal entries
- Continuously strive to improve reporting and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- High skill level in all MS office software including Excel and Outlook
- Five plus years business experience in General Ledger accounting, with at least two years cost accounting experience: standard costs, inventory adjustment, book to book reconciliations, PPV analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and resolve inventory activity with appropriate journal entries
- Experience accounting for Fixed Assets, and basic accounting tasks (Cash recons, Prepaids, Accruals).
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize across many responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills needed to maintain working relationships and open communication with all suppliers, warehouses, and operations team.

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Experience with Netsuite Accounting Software
- Experience in warehouse activity, supply chain, logistics.
- CPA preferred

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
