This Saff Accountant position will play a key role in supporting the finance and accounting functions of our firm. This individual will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and assisting with audits and tax preparations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced financial services environment.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in cash flow tracking.
- Maintain and analyze financial records, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Assist in preparing tax documents, regulatory filings, and audit schedules.
- Work with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to improve processes and financial efficiencies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within financial services, investment firms, or banking.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- CPA or working toward CPA certification is a plus.
