RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review manpower count regularly and work with the Department Managers/Assistant Managers to maintain a sufficient workforce.
- Address issues with employees, involving HR when necessary.
- Review payroll report and identify discrepancies.
- Provide technical assistance for Estimators, Materials Buyers and Foremen
- Provide support and guidelines for the department Materials Buyer
- Work with the Department Managers/Assistant Managers to develop and implement training programs to maintain a highly skilled workforce.
- Coach, counsel, discipline, and reward employees
- Review Employee performance on a regular basis
- Review credit card purchases and confirm with Estimator that charges are applied to the proper job.
- Work with sales/management to strategize and come up with cost savings to obtain targeted projects.
- Review and evaluate department estimator targets and make recommendations for adjustments.
- Work with the Department Managers/Assistant Managers to develop and maintain standards for methods and materials.
- Forecast workload and collaborate with other departments to keep all employees scheduled.
- Host monthly department meetings
- Work closely with corporate Recruiters to hire proper personnel.
- Evaluate performance of Department Managers, Assistant Managers, Materials Buyers and Estimators
- Review estimates with Estimators
- Work with HR to maintain high standards by creating/modifying policies and procedures.
- Evaluate operational performance of departments and make improvements.
- Evaluate profitability of departments and make operational changes required to increase margins while staying competitive.
- Research and stay current on new tooling and processes to keep departments up to date with the latest technology.
- Evaluate stock material costs and maintain LEDMS material pricing.
- Review all warranty jobs to evaluate quality/performance issues. Implement changes to procedure/training to eliminate reoccurrences.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10 years of related construction/trade experience including industrial self-perform work.
- Knowledge of trade operations, finance, cost structure, sales, and safety
- Seek out, listen, and understand feedback from field employees, office employees, and customers.
- Prior experience providing technical trade assistance to field and office employees.
- Ability to drive project and personnel issues to successful completion.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Prior experience with industrial process equipment installation related projects
- Able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of internal departments, company policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiencies.
- Possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to evaluate, reward, and discipline employees in conjunction with company policies and guidelines as listed in the employee handbook.
