Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings for various jobs and fabricate to industry standards
- Communicate between field and office personnel daily on prioritization of work
- Must be self-motivating, organized, and be able to meet deadlines
- Fabricate and weld sheet metal consisting of galvanized, aluminum and stainless steel
- Order material to maintain proper stock of shop
- Operate fabricating machines such as rolls, shears, brakes, and plasma cutting machine
- Ensure working environment is clean and safe and all safety precautions are being followed
- Train fellow employees when needed
Job Requirements:
- 5 years’ experience in HVAC sheet metal fabrication
- Experience in all aspects of assembly and processing of both sheet metal duct and fittings
- Proficient in MIG welding
- Quality and detail orientation is a must
- Ability to accurately enter fittings into computer for HVAC fitting software system to prepare for plasma machine
- Must be able to interpret and work independently from shop drawings and blueprints
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments.
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
