This position is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing youth and adult activities, special events, and recreation programs for various age groups at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to :

Oversee contracted instructors and volunteers which include processing applications and invoices to submit for payments for programmed classes.

Organize, implement, and conduct programs such as Club Rec, fun days, spring break camps, and summer camp, including hiring, training and scheduling staff, providing feedback, evaluating summer staff, and evaluating the programs, as well as additional special events.

Input programs / classes into online recreation tracking system (Rec Trac), invoice all classes, room rentals and rentals for special events.

Responsible for opening and closing procedures that include printing reports and running checks and balances for all revenues taken in for the day and securing the recreation center.

Create program brochures, special event flyers, and all marketing material to advertise classes / programs.

Duties will also include cleaning the facility, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms and various other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education, Experience, Licensing

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and six months of work experience working with large groups of school-age children.

CPR and First Aid training is required within six months of hire or employment may end.

Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Supplemental Information

Proficient in dealing with the public promptly, professionally, and courteously.

Basic mathematical skills for preparing and maintaining reports.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the general public.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Capability to solicit donations.

Proficient in operating basic office equipment and using Microsoft programs for clerical tasks.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in all seasons.

Knowledge of current programming trends in Parks & Recreation, including games and field trips, is preferred.

Work Schedule : Flexible work schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
