This Security Analyst has responsibilities to ensure the agency’s digital assets are protected from unauthorized access by identifying, investigating, and resolving potential security breaches. This is done by conducting security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis; and performing both internal and external security audits. All functions are performed in accordance with the Agency’s strategy and the Innovation and Technology Department policies, procedures, and guidelines with minimal direction from management.

This Security Analyst has responsibilities to ensure the agency’s digital assets are protected from unauthorized access by identifying, investigating, and resolving potential security breaches. This is done by conducting security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis; and performing both internal and external security audits. All functions are performed in accordance with the Agency’s strategy and the Innovation and Technology Department policies, procedures, and guidelines with minimal direction from management.
Position Duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage assigned responsibilities to include managing permissions, and access rights in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security and regulatory compliance.
- Generate statistics and prepare reports for management and/or team members on security posture.
- Manage the planning and design of enterprise security architecture, under the direction of the management, to include: policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures.
- Manage the planning and design of an enterprise business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan, under the direction of the Management, where appropriate.
- Keep up with emerging security alerts and issues by assessing the current threat landscape.
- Manage risk assessments and conduct analysis and research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts.
- Manage security assessments, identify gaps in existing security architecture, and recommend changes or improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors. Communicate current and emerging security threats to management and team members.

Education, Experience & Certification(s):
- Associate Degree in the Information Technology field or 2 years of IT industry experience.
- 2 years direct work experience in a security analysis capacity.
- Technical certifications preferred.
- ITIL v4 certification preferred.
- Or any combination of education, training and work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
- This position requires a minimum two-year term and successful completion of the associated training plan prior to promotion eligibility.

- Proficient with software tools and utilities including, but not limited to Microsoft ® Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Office.
- Good understanding of current industry standards, commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the information technology industry.
- Ability to conduct research into information technology application and product issues.
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software security systems, applications, and related products.
- Ability to manage systems planning, security principles, and general systems management best practices.
- Experience with testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures.
Work Conditions:
- Office: May require extensive time sitting at computer.
- Work from Home: Majority of time is spent sitting at the computer.
- This position may require going to other agencies, departments, and/or offices on different floors and/or buildings throughout the day.
- This position may require fingerprinting to meet FDLE security standards.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
- This position may require bending and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
