Description
We are seeking a versatile Heavy Equipment Operator / Laborer to join our team. This position is responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other site-specific vehicles, while also performing general manual labor tasks. You will play a key role in ensuring that equipment is operated safely and efficiently to support tasks like moving materials, grading, and excavation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and other heavy equipment is a plus.
- Perform general labor duties including landscaping, material handling, digging, loading / unloading materials, and clearing debris on industrial or construction sites.
- Assist with site preparation activities, including grading, excavation, and moving materials.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in safe working condition and address any potential issues with machinery or materials promptly.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Switch between equipment operation and manual labor duties depending on site needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Education, Experience, Licensing
The job requires a combination of education and / or experience equivalent to high school graduation or a GED.
Valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Learner's Permit (required for employment).
This role is safety-sensitive, meaning it is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as per DOT regulations (49 CFR-Parts 40 and / or 382).
Valid Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver's License.
