Are you ready to make your mark? Join our Lee County Department of Transportation Team and dive into the world of pavement markings!

What You'll Do :

  • Operate equipment like striping machines and pavement marker applicators.
  • Install and maintain road markings and special legends.
  • Review work orders to understand layouts and designs.
  • Lay out marking designs and apply paint and materials.
  • Remove old markings using pressure washing, sandblasting, or asphalt grinding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate a large truck with a mounted impact attenuator and arrow / message board.
  • Operate traffic marking equipment to include : Long Line Paint truck, walk behind thermo application machine, walk behind paint striper, raised pavement application machine, and all similar equipment.
  • Education, Experience, Licensing

    Minimum Requirements

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and one year of work experience in general maintenance and repairs; including the use of hand and power tools.
  • This is a Safety-Sensitive position subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided by DOT regulation 49 CFR-Parts 40 and / or 382.
  • License / Certification

  • International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Safety in the Work Zone Area certification or the ability to obtain the certification within three (3) months of employment is required.
  • International Municipal Signal Association Level I Signs and Marking, or the ability to obtain the certification within one (1) year of employment is required.
  • Possession of a valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement and an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Supplemental Information

  • Traffic Markings experience is preferred.
  • The work days and hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 7 : 00 a.m. 5 : 30 p.m.
