POSITION: Parks and Recreation- Animal Caretaker
MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $10/hour
Description of Work:
Lee County seeks an innovative customer service driven professional to join our team as Animal Caretaker. This position works collaboratively with the Recreation Programmer-Outdoor Education Personnel to perform caretaking duties for animals located in the San-Lee Nature Center. Weekly schedule is flexible.
Duties to be performed include feeding animals located at the San-Lee Nature Center as well as keeping their areas clean. Animals include but are not limited to turtles, snakes, frogs, and raptors. The person in this position will also answer questions from the public while in the Nature Center and enforce policies, rules, and regulations at San-Lee Park.
Requirements:
Preferred applicants must be at least 16 years old, enrolled in or graduated from high school, and have reliable transportation; some knowledge of North Carolina fauna and some experience working with animals; must be able to work weekends and some holidays; must be responsible and able to follow written instructions.
Valid Driver’s license in the state of North Carolina is required.
