Eligibility Specialist (Temp w/ FRS & Med)

• Processes applications, makes commitments to utility vendors, monitors files, and conducts community outreach.
• Review applications and verification documents for accuracy and completeness and follow up with clients to verify information and collect additional documents as needed.
• Performs general clerical responsibilities to include, but not limited to filing, copying, scanning, general correspondence, and preparing documents to mail.
• Maintains accurate client database, client file integrity, and security.
• Communicates to clients, vendors, outside agencies, etc., policies, procedures, services offered, and criteria for receiving services as per the Department/Program policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with co-workers as needed and participates as a team member within the Family Impact Unit and the Department as a whole.
• Works with diverse groups.
• Perform related work as assigned.

• Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to High School diploma or GED equivalent and two years human services, counselling, crisis intervention or closely related experience.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to manage stress effectively and maintain composure in challenging situations is required.
• Proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills is necessary, along with computer skills in a Windows-based operating system, word processing, and data entry.
