Lee County Community Development Department is seeking a talented Front End Developer to join our dynamic team. Under the direction of a team leader or supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the county’s record management software and integrated applications, which includes writing custom JavaScript code and SQL database statements. You will also provide team oversight, guidance, and technical expertise on assigned projects, as well as collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that meet our organizational and customer needs.

- Updates configurations for the Permitting/Record Management Software using built-in software tools, SQL database statements, JavaScript automation scripting, event handling, and other third-party administrative tools.
- Writes efficient, readable, and reusable JavaScript code for the Permitting/Record Management Software and related components.
- Develops and maintains libraries of custom JavaScript code for future use.
- Provides team oversight, guidance, and technical expertise on assigned projects, including but not limited to scripting, reporting, and other advanced design techniques or program development, through training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Performs a variety of professional, technical, and analytical duties involving requirement analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, administration, and processes in support of the Permitting/Record Management Software (Accela) and related components (i.e. ProjectDox, Selectron, Accela Citizen Access, etc.).
- Prepares and performs business unit system integration and tests in support of solutions.
- Acts as liaison between the departments, vendors, Lee County IT, and other stakeholders in the resolution of issues and in the planning, designing, and building of enhancements to the systems to ensure timely outcomes, while escalating decisions to a higher authority as required.
- Assists with developing detailed project plans, documenting processes/enhancements, and communicating project status to the appropriate persons/departments.
- Researches, identifies, and documents business requirements and solutions for complex problems with the goal of automating as much of the process as possible.
- Assists with the completion of activities/tasks as needed to support the team.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Education: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or GED.
- Experience: Four years of database management, systems maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, user support, and/or problem diagnosis and resolution is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software development concepts, including Object-Oriented Design, JavaScript (or an equivalent programming language), version control (e.g., Git), and debugging, with a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, SQL, and system applications such as informational or record management systems.
- Driver’s License: Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Crystal Reporting/SSRS.
- Knowledge of API development or User Interface experience.
- Knowledge of the Accela Civic Platform.
- Knowledge of permitting, planning, zoning, or development services processes.
- Experience with project management, or process creation and implementation.
- Proficient in software applications, including Microsoft Office.

The workdays and hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
