What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Housekeeping Assistant position at Lee County Government?
General Definition of Work:
This is a full-time position within the General Services Department. Employees will perform a variety of duties in the cleaning of all County-owned facilities. Essential functions include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, cleaning restroom areas and replenishing supplies; cleaning up spills (including bodily fluids); cleaning windows, walls, woodwork, light fixtures and furniture; emptying trash receptacles and keeping them clean. Duties may also include physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture. Working outside in extreme heat and cold conditions. Responsible for building security and lock-up.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to perform manual work; ability to read; thoroughness, cleanliness; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of experience and training which provides knowledge of cleaning procedures and materials, the ability to follow instructions and the ability to perform light to medium physical work.
Special Requirements:
Valid Driver’s license in the state of North Carolina.
