What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply and Inventory Specialist position at Lee County Government?
We are looking for a Supply & Inventory Specialist to join our Maintenance team. In this role, you will help manage our warehouse by ordering, receiving, and delivering parts, equipment, and supplies. You will also make sure that inventory is stocked properly at our main warehouse and remote sites. Your responsibilities will include keeping track of inventory, doing year-end counts, and adjusting records.
The Supply & Inventory Specialist works closely with vendors to make sure parts are available when needed. You will also follow inventory control procedures, maintain the warehouse, and organize supplies for easy access.
- Issue parts and supplies to employees, including preparing stock items and completing paperwork.
- Check in with employees daily to make sure they have the supplies they need and that deliveries are on time.
- Keep the warehouse and remote stockrooms clean and organized.
- Verify incoming shipments for correct amounts and quality.
- Update work orders and check invoices for accuracy.
- Use parts manuals and other resources to find equipment and supplies.
- Do physical inventory counts and audits.
- Perform basic clerical work like data entry and recordkeeping.
- Help with other tasks in the Maintenance and Electrical shop if needed.
- High school diploma or GED, plus six months of experience working in storekeeping involving the selection, purchasing, storage, and issuing of various equipment parts and supplies, or related experience.
- Experience in ordering, storing, and issuing equipment and supplies is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, motors, and pumps used in water and wastewater utilities.
- Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime if needed.
