What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Runner position at Lee County Mosquito/Hyacinth Control Districts?

Our Seasonal Runner picks up and delivers orders, supplies and material from and to local vendors in Lee County and provide general clerical support for the Purchasing department. This is a temporary position for our season that usually runs from May to October. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Pick up and deliver orders and supplies from and to local venders when neededVerify all orders/supplies are correctly matched to the invoice/purchase order and correct any discrepancies before accepting delivery Pick up and deliver mail and other supplies to various locations on the district’s campus Answer phones for Purchasing Department as neededAssist with filing and other administrative tasks for the Purchasing Department as neededMay assist with filling requisitions that come to the front counter including completing product information on the requisitions, issuing parts and supplies, and entering data into Tyler software as neededCommunicate with the public in a professional and courteous manner and refer all inquiries outside of area of expertise back to the appropriate person at the districtFollow all Districts Safety policies and procedures and comply with all local, state and federal regulations at all timesResponsible for ensuring all assigned equipment is maintained and any necessary repairs are reported promptlyOther duties and projects as assigned

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Requirements: Moderate physical activity is required daily including lifting, reaching for, pulling and carrying up to fifty pounds while loading and unloading vehicles, using hands and fingers to type and operate a delivery van, climbing in and out of the delivery van, and sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time. Excellent vision, both close and distant, is required frequently. Work Environment: The work environment varies but normally is an office, vehicle or warehouse, but may occasionally include workshops, laboratories, and airplane hangars. Extensive local travel is required while driving a vehicle for long periods of time. Working around chemicals, which are stored, handled, applied and disposed of according to exact labeling instructions, is required occasionally.
