Job Summary
Lee County Plumbing, a plumbing construction and home services business in Ft Myers is seeking an accounting/bookkeeping person to work in the payroll department. The job is primarily data entry, entering payroll data.
This is a full-time position with great benefits, a magical work environment and magnificent staff to work with. Candidate must be a fast learner, multi-tasker, and have great critical thinking skills. Previous payroll experience with an organization of 50 employees would be a gigantic plus.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and deductions.
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports as required.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve any payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support for accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Utilize financial software and accounting software to maintain accurate financial records.
Skills
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting software is essential.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and human resources practices.
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll processing.
- Experience in technical accounting principles is a plus.
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
