Shift Work: Dayshift with On-Call Nights & Weekend Rotation

Role and Responsibilities:
The Technology Specialist will provide customer support for all issues related to computer systems, software and hardware. The Technology Specialist will troubleshoot, repair and upgrade desktop/laptop computer systems and assist users on-site as well as travel to other locations. They will be responsible for developing, writing and updating procedures. The Technology Specialist will apply knowledge of computer software and hardware to resolve user Issues. The Technology Specialist will provide users with guidance in the proper use of software applications including but not limited to; Microsoft Windows, Office Suite and agency specific software as well as provide support for additional IT services, including but not limited to desktop support, laptop support, agency software, cell phones, access control, radios, virtualization, antennas, printers, scanners, etc. The Technology Specialist will be responsible for other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Bend, walk, sit, stand for long periods of time, see & hear clearly, speak clear English in order to assist end users, manual dexterity, ambulate independently, tolerate strong odors, ability to crawl under desks and move around easily, and able to lift 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old, or older
- Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License or state issued ID card
- Must possess a Social Security Card
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Must not have used illegal drugs in the last 12 months
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
- Must be able to speak, write and understand the English language
- Must be able to work various shifts with rotating days off, as well as weekends, holidays and emergency events such as hurricanes
Preferred Skills:
- IT Industry certifications.
- Must have 2 years of related experience in a customer support organization resolving technology-related issues.
- Must have excellent knowledge of IT customer support and Help Desk operations.
- Possess outstanding customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to articulate technical issues and solutions to non-technical users.
- Must be able to create clear and concise written technical documentation.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately
- Computer literacy and good typing skills necessary
