What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Nutrition Aide position at Lee County Youth Development Center?
Responsibilities: Assists in the timely and orderly preparation and provision of daily nutritious meals which meet all federal and state nutrition guidelines. Fresh meals prepared mainly from scratch for main campus youth. Prepares work space and food for cooking, keeping with State an local Public Health standards including washing, cutting, chopping, seasoning, saute', baking, stirring, etc. Position requires continual attention to food prep, cooking, serving and post-cooking cleaning. Serves and stores food in compliance with supervisory directives, individual dietary requirements and health codes. Assists in maintaining food preparation areas, washing, drying and storing dishes, utensils, pots and pans and food inventory and disposal of refuge and garbage in compliance with all State and Federal health, nutrition and food handling mandates. Assists with maintaining all interior and immediate exterior areas and spaces of cafeteria complex. Completes other required duties as assigned.
Qualifications: HS diploma required; 2 or more years experience in food preparation preferred. Non-sedentary position; requires movement and strong manual dexterity skills.
Must have strong work ethic, excellent attendance record and demonstrated ability to follow directions, perform duties and accept supervision;
Must have ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with youth in care;
Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directives and use sound judgement.
