The Quad-City Times is seeking applicants for a full-time 10-week paid news internship over the summer. The start date is somewhat flexible.
The successful candidate will get hands-on reporting experience covering a variety of beats for the award-winning Quad-City Times and Dispatch-Argus and have a hand in project reporting.
Qualified candidates should be capable of producing compelling content for our digital and print platforms. Interns should feel empowered to find and pitch stories about our communities.
Applicants who are enrolled in a bachelor’s program in journalism or a recent graduate of a program will be preferred. A valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, reliable transportation and the flexibility to work some nights and weekends are required.
The Quad-Cities is a cluster of cities on the banks of the Mississippi River that offer an affordable lifestyle with bigger-city amenities. The digital and traditional print media platforms of the Quad-City Times and Dispatch-Argus are part of Lee Enterprises, a dynamic media company committed to local news - and acquiring and growing outstanding journalists. The intern will work out of the combined newsroom in Davenport, Iowa.
