Field Service Technician – Solar Energy Industry
About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to support the construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role will focus on providing exceptional on-site technical expertise and project support across utility, commercial, and industrial solar projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about renewable energy, well-versed in PV systems, and thrives in hands-on field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination and Management : Oversee and coordinate PV system construction, installation, and maintenance activities. Ensure all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Field Services : Deliver value-added on-site services, including inspections, troubleshooting, and system repairs. Address customer concerns with a professional and solution-oriented approach.
- Quality Assurance and Control (QA / QC) : Perform QA / QC inspections throughout the PV project lifecycle, ensuring systems meet all applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
- System Design and Implementation : Create system designs for DC distribution wiring and assist in system layout and installation planning.
- Technical Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues related to PV systems, including electrical, mechanical, and structural components. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to implement solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, UL, IEC, and TuV. Provide documentation and reports as needed.
- Customer Service : Foster strong relationships with clients by delivering excellent service, timely follow-ups, and proactive communication.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and system performance. Prepare detailed reports for internal teams and clients.
- Safety and Training : Adhere to all safety protocols and standards. Provide training to customers and colleagues on system operations and maintenance when necessary.
- Travel Requirements : Travel to project sites (up to 30% of the time) to provide field services and support on-site teams.
