Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team in Roanoke, VA. This position will focus on sales of audio-visual equipment and installation services to Houses of Worship and K-12 educational institutions. This position is expected to train under seasoned salespersons. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and provide tailored AV solutions that align with our clients’ goals. The role involves working closely with internal teams, including Engineering, Installation, and Marketing, to ensure the best possible customer experience from the initial sale through project completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Client Acquisition: Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new clients, focusing on the House of Worship and K-12 education sectors.
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and pursue potential customers, lead efforts to present, quote, and close sales for AV equipment and installations.
- Sales Proposals & Quotes: Prepare and deliver accurate sales proposals and quotes, ensuring they meet client needs while staying within budget.
- Full Sales Cycle Management: Oversee the entire sales process, from contract negotiation to order tracking, ensuring smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain long-term, strong relationships with key stakeholders in Houses of Worship and K-12 schools, providing ongoing support and ensuring repeat business.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Installation, and Accounting teams to ensure customer expectations are met and any issues are resolved.
- Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and advancements in AV technology to adapt sales strategies as necessary.
- Customer-Focused Solutions: Provide tailored recommendations and solutions that meet client needs while adhering to budget constraints.
- Sales Tracking & Reporting: Track sales progress, contribute to forecasting and planning activities, and report on key metrics to leadership.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with clients at all levels.
- Familiarity with the unique AV needs and challenges faced by Houses of Worship and K-12 educational institutions.
- Proven ability to develop tailored AV solutions that meet client requirements and budgets.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to resolve client issues promptly and effectively.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, with a focus on audio-visual equipment and installation solutions, ideally within the House of Worship and K-12 sectors.
- Prior experience selling AV solutions to educational institutions or religious organizations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the latest AV technologies, industry trends, and installation processes.
- Ability to travel within the Roanoke, VA region and occasionally beyond to meet with clients and oversee installations.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk, as well as travel to client locations.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
