Job Description
The Maintenance Manager serves as a key member of our operations team, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our plant equipment, maintaining a safe working environment, and driving business growth through process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules are completed, minimizing downtime and extending the life of manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and implement performance metrics to measure maintenance team productivity and equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage and execute preventive maintenance programs to prevent equipment failure, reduce maintenance costs, and increase overall efficiency.
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance records, including equipment logs, work orders, and maintenance histories, to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Oversee troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
- Provide hands-on technical support for complex equipment failures, collaborating with external service providers and contractors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve business objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging lean principles and six sigma methodologies to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Manage relationships with external service providers and contractors, fostering partnerships that support business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role, preferably in food manufacturing or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Strong field trouble shooting experience; hands on PLC (500) trouble shoot experience or program writing; able to use Auto CAD, spreadsheet and presentation programs.
- Ability to think critically, analyze data, and make informed decisions.
- Familiarity with Lean/Six-Sigma, GMP, SSOP, ISO and ERP system is highly preferred.
- Familiar with MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
