What are the responsibilities and job description for the SY25-26 Elementary Montessori Coach position at Lee Montessori Public Charter School?
The Elementary Coach is a 12-month role responsible for creating and leading a community of reflective practitioners and ensuring the fidelity of the implementation of Montessori Elementary for both children and adults. The Montessori Coach is a member of the school leadership team and will participate in all school-wide decision-making, strategic planning, and educational program design.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Development and Implementation of Elementary Montessori Program
- Ensures that our elementary program is delivered according to the school’s mission and vision.
- Works with adults to ensure equity in access to quality lessons, materials, and experiences.
- Models grace and courtesy in all interactions with children, adults, and families.
- Integrates the how and the why of Montessori pedagogy through all actions and beliefs.
Planning and Management
- Attends weekly leadership and coaching alignment meetings.
- Works with the leadership team and board to set annual goals and strategy.
- Collaborates on the recruitment, selection, and orientation of elementary staff.
- Manage the class placement process and materials management process in all elementary classrooms.
- Determines priorities for use of time in the daily, weekly, and yearly calendars.
Staff Development
- Conducts weekly observations and one-on-one meetings with Elementary classroom teachers
- Leads bi-weekly level meetings with elementary guides
- Plan, lead and deliver professional learning workshops (PLCS) for a variety of participants based on the needs of our school community.
- Ensures that consistent Lesson Study and Child Study protocols are followed and implemented with fidelity among the elementary team.
Data and Assessment
- Collect data about work engagement and academic performance through regular observation
- Use a variety of data points to deliver feedback about classroom practice and planning.
- Analyze classroom and standardized assessment data to inform priorities and goal setting for the elementary program.
- Analyze accountability metrics to inform school-wide goals and priorities.
Collaboration, Communication, and Community Relations
- Engage with families by leading and attending school-wide events; occasional evening and/or weekend participation expected.
- Help to set the vision for family engagement, education, and outreach.
- Collaborates on school-wide messaging to families and the community.
- Fosters opportunities for dialogue about culturally responsive teaching, current events, and serving all children within our community.
Requirements
- Be efficient, organized and people-centered

- Have a firm commitment to upholding the school’s mission.
- Possess Elementary Montessori training with an AMI or AMS diploma; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Have at least 5 years of experience working as a lead guide, preferably in a public or urban setting.
- Track record of improving student outcomes.
- Prior experience coaching or leading a successful team, preferably.
- Demonstrated commitment to Lee’s Anti-Racist/Anti-Bias goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to integrate data and assessment with the traditional Montessori curriculum in order deliver high quality instruction to all students
- Desire to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to a growing organization.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000 per year plus benefits. We anticipate the starting salary for a new hire to fall between the low- and midpoint of $92,500. Your salary will be determined by the experience you bring to the role and reflect equity with the organization.
