What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer 1:1 Special Education Paraprofessionals - Summer 6/30 to 7/31 (16 hours a week) position at Lee Public Schools?
Monday through Thursday 8:30 to 12:30 June 30, 2025 to July 31, 2025
Duties:
- Assist special education teachers in implementing curriculum and lesson plans
- Provide support to students with disabilities in various educational settings
- Assist with individualized instruction and small group activities
- Help students with daily tasks, such as personal hygiene and mobility
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students in developing social skills and positive behavior strategies
- Assist in the management of classroom materials and resources
- Provide assistance during field trips and extracurricular activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the classroom environment
