About the Role :
Lee Recruitment Strategies is seeking a Junior Accounting Technician to support the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) . This role involves providing professional accounting and financial management services to Federal, State & Local, and other government clients . The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger, Federal financial statements, and Federal budget execution while ensuring compliance with government financial management regulations .
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as a team lead , coordinating efforts with accountants and analysts to deliver high-quality financial management services.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), Federal financial statements, and Federal budget execution .
- Assess financial products and procedures for compliance with government standards and financial management regulations .
- Ensure timely submission and proper formatting of financial reports in accordance with Federal requirements .
- Provide technical assistance and sound recommendations to senior Federal leadership for systems improvements and proper accounting treatment of financial transactions .
- Advise and assist staff and Federal officials in financial and accounting systems procedures, reports, and compliance requirements .
- Analyze financial data, transactions, and reports to support budget execution, financial reconciliation, and compliance auditing .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial systems and operational efficiency .
